The 2015 Netherfield Ball promises to be a splendid evening of elegance, dance and music with tasty refreshment and excellent company.  We are pleased to announce the site for the evening's festivities is the lovely Fellowship Room in Oak Lawn United Methodist Church, 3014 Oak Lawn Avenue, Dallas.
The Fellowship Room has beautiful stained glass windows, low stage and a hardwood floor most amenable to graceful dancing.  Lovely, comfortable sitting areas and library complete the venue.

Located just north of downtown Dallas, Oak Lawn United Methodist Church is in the middle of a variety of restaurants with convenient access to area hotels including the beautiful and historic Warwick Melrose directly across the street.
Please check the Ball web page for links with listings of convenient area hotels and restaurants.

Yes, I mean to go to as many balls as possible, that I may have a good bargain.”

Can there ever be too much dancing?  We think not and in an effort to provide every advantage to Netherfield Ball attendees......

We are most excited to announce that Louise Siddons, the talented caller for the June 20th Netherfield Ball, has been secured to teach two English Country Dance workshops the morning of the Ball.

These workshops are being held as part of the North Texas Chapter’s June with Jane event.
Two sessions are planned - one from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. and the second 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.  Three different dances will be taught per session encompassing a variety of steps, tunes and difficulty levels.   More information to come but rest assured you will be well prepared for a special evening of dance.  With Louise’s capable instruction, you might even anticipate dancing as elegantly as Elizabeth and Darcy.

For your comfort, safety and enjoyment, only dance shoes or flat shoes will be allowed at the Netherfield Ball. Please wear shoes that allow you to turn easily on a wooden floor, but are not too slippery.
Leather soles work well, as can suede, walking shoes, jazz shoes, and Oxford-style shoes.

You are also welcome to bring more than one pair to test on the floor at the event.

We appreciate your compliance for your enjoyment and safety as well as in consideration of our host venue.

Might we have the pleasure of this dance.....?
